South Carolina Wide Receiver Takes Blatant Shot At Former Teammate On Social Media

It seems that the South Carolina Gamecocks don't hold new Ole Miss wide receiver Antwane "Juice" Wells Jr. in high regard following his transfer to the Rebels over the offseason.

At least that's what South Carolina cornerback Nick Emmanwori portrayed in a recent Instagram post to his personal account.

The junior reposted Wells' photo of himself in his new threads with the added caption "Judas Wells...", a nod to the Biblical example of a traitor.

It's not often that transfer-portal drama extends to social media quite like this, but there is certainly another feeling around the upcoming matchup. The Gamecocks will host the Rebels at Williams-Brice Stadium on Oct. 5.

Both Emmanwori and Wells have left their marks under Shane Beamer at South Carolina. Emmanwori earned Freshman All-American honors in 2022 and showed further improvement last season, recording 71 stops, eight pass breakups, and two interceptions in 2023.

Wells, a fifth-year senior, was a featured part of South Carolina's offense for the better part of three seasons, catching 170-plus passes for nearly 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns. A foot injury caused him to miss the majority of last season.

Wells elected to transfer to Ole Miss to play for Lane Kiffin in December. He has impressed throughout the spring and summer and may be one of Jaxson Dart's top options this season.

While there are plenty of games to be played before the Rebels make the trip to Columbia, this matchup will be very competitive in the first week of October.
