    Things to do: Sheriff's Rodeo, Hardison Mill Farmer's Market, Celtic history and cars

    This weekend saddle up for the 20th Maury County Sheriff's Rodeo, shop fresh foods at Hardison Mill, learn a little Celtic culture through music or cruise cool cars at the Co-op.

    1. Maury County Sheriff's Rodeo

    It's that time of year again to strap on those boots and head down to Maury County Park for the 20th annual Maury County Sheriff's Rodeo.

    This year's rodeo will take place starting at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with park gates opening at 5 p.m.

    Tickets are $15 presale, which can be purchased at the United Farm and Home Co-op, 975 Riverview Lane, as well as Columbia Farm Supply, 170 Bear Creek Pike. Tickets at the gate are $20 and kids ages 11 and under get in for free.

    This year's event will also feature a new seating area to provide additional room for attendees.

    2. Hardison Mill Farmer's Market

    This weekend starts the season for fresh produce and homemade goods you'll find at Hardison Mill's Farmer's Market.

    Hardison Mill, located on Rory Feek's farm at 4544 Highway 431, will host its farmer's market from 8 a.m. to noon every second and fourth Saturday through October.

    Shop among local farmers and producers with items ranging from vegetables to fruits, locally sourced meats, woodworking and milk products.

    There will also be other things like local honey, baked goods and fresh jams and jellies. In addition, homesteaders can bring home their own plant starts.

    3. Light a Fire on the Mountain: A Celtic Odyssey

    Learn the legend of St. Patrick as part of a special concert presentation by Packard Playhouse, 614 N. Main St.

    "Light a Fire on The Mountain: A Celtic Odyssey" will take place starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

    The legend goes that when St. Patrick landed on the pagan shores of Ireland, where the rule was only the Druids could light a fire on the high mountain. Facing the threat of death, St. Patrick scaled the high mountain and lit the fire in the name of Christ.

    The show will feature music inspired by the St. Patrick story, with fiery fiddles, soulful voices and a slew of ensembles featuring young artists from all over the U.S.

    Tickets are $20 for general admission, $30 for VIP and $12 for children, and are available for purchase at www.PackardPlayhouse.com .

    4. Cruisin' the Co-op

    The United Farm & Home Co-op, 975 Riverview Lane, will kick off the weekend with another Cruisin' the Co-op.

    The all-ages event will run from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

    As always, Cruisin' the Co-op will feature lots of classic cars, as well as food trucks and a lot more.

    5. Live entertainment

    Craig Morris & King Cotton will perform at Puckett's in downtown Columbia starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

    Road to Richmond will perform at Asgard Brewing Co. & Taproom, 104 E. 5th St., starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

    Brandt Archer & Damien Boggs will perform at McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery, 814 S. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

    Eric Turner will perform at The Tilted Mule, 102 Depot St., starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

    Sticky KiM will perform at The Boondox, 3543 Highway 431, starting at 8 p.m. Friday.

    Stevierock will perform at McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery, 814 S. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

    Tim Turner Band will perform at The Tilted Mule, 102 Depot St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

    Stranger Than Fiction will perform at The Rebel Bar and Grill, 307 Riverside Drive, starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

    Don McKinnon will perform at The Tilted Mule, 102 Depot St., starting at 3 p.m. Sunday.

    Level 77 will perform at The Rebel Bar and Grill, 307 Riverside Drive, starting at 4 p.m. Sunday.
