— Officers on patrol in the area of North Madison Avenue and Bentley Drive at 10:50 p.m. Monday observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and officers made contact with the driver Tristan Apinis, 38, Salem, and had K-9 Simon respond and conduct a free air sniff, indicating the presence of contraband. Contraband was located with assistance from the Columbiana Police Department, and Apinis was taken into custody. Officers transported the driver to the police department for processing and then transported him to the Columbiana County Jail. The contraband will be turned over to the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force.
