    Arrest made in stabbing death of pregnant woman at Elizabeth Canty Homes

    COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Columbus Police have made an arrest connected to the Elizabeth Canty Homes stabbing that occurred Friday.

    Police say Kyle Dean, 20, was arrested in connection to the stabbing death of his wife Chasity Dean, 20, and her fetus. He was taken into custody at an east Alabama residence earlier today and has been transported to the Lee County Jail to await extradition to Columbus.

    According to authorities, officers responded to the Elizabeth Canty Homes in reference to a stabbing. They discovered Chasity Dean suffering from a stab wound. EMS transported her to Piedmont Columbus Regional where it was confirmed she was pregnant.

    An emergency room doctor pronounced both the Chasity Dean and her fetus dead at 2:29 p.m. The bodies will be sent for an autopsy.
