    Jill Biden pushes back on President Biden criticism in Columbus campaign visit: ‘He’s all in.’

    First Lady Jill Biden criticized former President Donald Trump and emphasized her husband’s support for veterans in a 10-minute speech in Columbus Monday.

    The first lady visited Georgia and, along with veterans and military families, gave a speech at the Bibb Mill Event Center to a crowd of supporters. She took the stage just after 6 p.m. and reiterated that President Joe Biden will stay in the race despite recent scrutiny and calls to drop out , some coming from within the Democratic party.

    “For all the talk about this race, Joe has made it clear that he’s all in,” she said. “That’s the decision he has made. And just as he’s supported my career, I’m all in too.”

    Jill Biden was expected to appear in three states to campaign for her husband, according to multiple media reports. Stops in Florida and North Carolina were also planned.

    She concluded before 6:30 p.m. and shook hands with members of the crowd. Hundreds of people were in attendance. Trump supporters were outside the venue as she arrived.

    First lady criticizes Trump for comments on veterans

    Jill Biden, referencing a report that Trump called people who died in war “losers” and “suckers,” advocated for Biden’s record on supporting veterans and said the Bidens were launching Veterans & Military Families for Biden.

    She didn’t elaborate on what the group was, but multiple media reports indicate it’s for outreach to military families .

    Veterans, families advocate for Biden in Columbus

    A handful of military veterans and military families spoke at Monday’s event. Two veterans directly criticized Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, with Bill Harlan saying the election was about “the survival of our democracy.”

    Harlan kicked off the event. Army mom Kirstin King spoke Monday too, advocating for Georgia to vote in Biden’s favor again this year.

    “Together, we can keep GA blue and we can also make sure that Donald Trump never sets foot in the White House again,” she said.

    Supporters chanted “four more years” during the speeches.

    The first lady also advocated for the president’s record on veterans’ issues.

    “He signed the first executive order to help military spouses keep their careers,” she said during Monday’s speech.

    Trump supporters demonstrated against event

    Fans of the former president stood outside the venue as Jill Biden arrived, chanting and holding signs in support of electing Trump.

    Supporters chanted “Let’s go Trump, let’s go.” About 65 people were in the crowd.
