COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Starting the day off cloudy with areas of patchy fog across the region. Staying pretty much overcast through most of your morning with a few breaks and peaks of sunshine by midday.

With more clouds in the morning, afternoon highs will remain below average in the upper 80s as we continue to dodge isolated showers and storms. So far we have a seven day streak of receiving measurable rainfall at the Columbus Airport; however, a rainfall deficit still remains just over an inch.

With a very stagnant weather pattern setup across the eastern third of the United States we will continue to have moisture pumped into the region as the Bermuda High remains strong over the Atlantic and a weak midwest frontal boundary stalled across the area. This pattern will stay persistent into the week ahead before the front washes out and a stronger cold front from Canada takes over as it drops down.

Extended forecast remains wet with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 80s and lower 90s through this week.
