COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — A local hair salon aims to help women with hair loss regain their confidence. Her Glory owner Tiffany Combs opened her uptown salon in 2017, inspired by a client she worked with in cosmetology school.

“When I started out early in my career, I had one client come to me that had severe hair loss due to autoimmune disease,” Combs said. “Me helping her get confidence back and style, that just really did something to my heart.”

Soon, Combs made non-surgical hair loss treatment her cosmetology niche. Combs now works with clients who have autoimmune-related hair loss, age related hair loss and more.

July marks International Women with Alopecia Month annually. According to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation , roughly 7 million people in the U.S. are impacted by the autoimmune disease alopecia areata. General hair loss affects even more.

When Combs opened her salon in 2017, she was already in beauty school and working to develop the Her Glory brand, including extensions and a special hair product line. Now, she is a licensed master cosmetologist and non-surgical hair replacement specialist.

Combs’ salon works by-appointment only with roughly 200 clients from Columbus and the surrounding area. Some travel from as far away as Atlanta for services at Her Glory.

“It gives me so much fulfillment,” Combs said about her work.

When clients come in, she works with them to come up with individualized plans for working with hair loss. This can range from treatments and serums to use of wigs and other hair pieces. Clients also get scalp massages when they come in.

In 2023, Combs also hired head spa specialist and licensed master cosmetologist Ty to help expand Her Glory’s offerings. The salon also offers services for clients without hair loss, including blowouts and product consultations.

For Combs, haircare and confidence go hand-in-hand. She said she is grateful for the opportunity to help women reclaim their confidence.

“It gets emotional,” Combs, who has dealt with hair loss herself, said. “I know what it feels like …  just to being able to give that back to them just really warms my heart, and that’s why I do what I do.”
