COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Wednesday begins with temperatures in the mid and upper 70s. A few rain cooled areas are starting out in the low 70s. But get ready for another hot afternoon with more isolated showers and storms.

Heat Advisory posted through this evening again for heat index values up to 107. This includes everybody for today. Air temperatures will climb into the mid 90s with a few areas getting into the upper 90s ahead of showers and storms. Thunderstorms are projected to begin earlier today with showers building right after midday.

Rest of the week remains hot and sunny with just a few stray showers and storms through the end of the week. Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 90s and possibly teetering on the century mark for a few areas.

A weak front slides in for the weekend helping to increase rainfall chances slightly as temperatures remain in the mid to low 90s for afternoon highs.

The tropics are starting to heat back up with a disturbance in the Atlantic which has a sixty percent chance of development over the next five days. It will likely impact the Greater Antilles later this week and areas of south Florida need to watch closely.
