(Radio Iowa) – The Ankeny-based Casey’s convenience store officially announced the acquisition today (Friday) of 198 stores in the southern U-S that includes 148 in Texas and 50 in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. . Casey’s is purchasing the CEFCO convenience stores for more than $1.145-BILLION dollars. Georgia Receiver In Jail After Arrest On Family Violence Charges
Georgia wide receiver Rara Thomas has been arrested on multiple charges of family violence, including one involving children, according to reports. Thomas, a senior, is being held in the Athens-Clarke County Jail. He has been charged with "cruelty to children-family violence, a second-degree felony, and two misdemeanor counts of battery-family violence," per Mark Schlabach of ESPN.

WWALS to host webinar on Georgia bats in Banks Lake, Douglas
HAHIRA – WWALS will host a webinar with a Wildlife Biologist from the state to give an overview on the bats of Georgia. WWALS Watershed Coalition will be hosting a webinar about the bats of Georgia that will include Banks Lake and Douglas. Emily Ferrall, a Wildlife Biologist, in the Wildlife Resources Division of the Wildlife Conservation Section of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GA-EPD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GA-DNR), will give an overview of the bats of Georgia, including species likely to occur at Banks Lake, and she has footage of the Douglas warehouse bats to show. She will mention the acoustic volunteer program.
