    What jobs are Georgia employers desperate to fill? These jobs are in high demand right now

    Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bill 982 in May which requires Georgia employers to create a list of high-demand careers and update it annually. The High Demand Career Initiative has been established to address the immediate workforce needs in the state of Georgia.

    The list offers a concise list of jobs and careers that are in the highest demand in the current employment market. These jobs range in salary and experience, but they are the areas that Georgia hiring managers need to fill now.

    The Technical System of Georgia states the list “represents the occupations in each of Georgia’s key industries that are in demand, pay an above-average entry-level wage, and are considered strong options for pursuing a successful career in Georgia.”

    Aerospace

    Aerospace refers to careers which encompass the design, development, manufacturing and maintenance of aircraft, spacecraft, satellites and related systems and equipment.

    Agribusiness

    Agribusiness is an industry which focuses on the production, processing and distribution of agricultural products. Agribusiness also includes input suppliers who provide necessary resources such as seeds, fertilizers and machinery, as well as services like marketing and financing.

    Business services

    Business services are a subset of economic services that focus on providing non-financial support to other businesses. These services include a wide range of activities such as consulting, marketing, logistics, staffing and administrative support.

    Construction

    Construction occupations encompass a wide range of jobs related to the building and maintenance of structures such as homes, roads and bridges. These roles can be categorized into various levels of skill and responsibility, from unskilled laborers to specialized tradespeople and managerial positions.

    Education

    Education careers include a wide range of professions within the educational sector, focusing on teaching, administration, support and specialized services in educational institutions. Here are some key aspects of education careers.

    Energy and Environment

    This area can entail a diverse range of professions focused on the development, management and implementation of energy solutions and environmental sustainability practices. These careers are crucial in addressing climate change, promoting clean energy and ensuring sustainable development.

    Entertainment

    Generally, entertainment jobs could be in a variety of areas including film, print, radio and television. Anyone who works toward a product meant to be consumed by the public could be considered as working in entertainment.

    Hospitality and Tourism

    A career in hospitality and tourism involves working in industries that provide services related to travel, lodging, food and recreation. These sectors focus on delivering experiences and satisfaction to customers.

    Life Sciences

    A career in life sciences will entail working in fields that apply scientific knowledge to understand and solve biological problems. This broad domain encompasses various sectors such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and environmental sciences

    Logistics and Transportation

    Logistics and transportation involves managing the movement of goods and services efficiently from their point of origin to their final destination. This field is critical for ensuring that products are delivered on time and in the right condition.

    Manufacturing

    Manufacturing encompasses the processes of planning, managing and executing the production of goods from raw materials to finished products. This field encompasses a wide range of activities, including design, engineering, production, quality assurance and logistics.
