    The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week poll is . . .

    Levi Pinder of Glenwood is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.

    Pinder is a senior quarterback on Glenwood’s football team. He completed 18 of 22 passes for 359 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 27 yards and one touchdown on three carries, in the Gator’s 49-22 win Aug. 30 at Elba.

    We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.

    Among this week’s five nominees, Pinder received 42% of the 17,414 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:

We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in the Columbus area (Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station) to nominate a male athlete.
