Columbus Animal Care & Control workers charged in ongoing investigation, councilwoman says

Two Columbus Animal Care & Control workers have been charged as part of an ongoing Columbus Police Department investigation into CACC, according to Councilwoman Toyia Tucker.

Tucker posted two announcements to Facebook today announcing at least two people charged as part of the investigation. Dr. Henry Hall has been charged with false statements and forgery 1st degree, according to one post by Tucker. A corporal for CACC, identified as Tennile Toliver, also has been charged with false statements and writings and violation of oath, according to another post by Tucker .

In that post, Tucker said, “As part of this ongoing process, some employees have already been notified that various misdemeanor and felony charges are being brought against them.”

Columbus City Council asked for CACC to be investigated during a July meeting when the public showed up to express outrage over the treatment of animals . Those who showed up to the meeting were upset by a video posted to Facebook that appeared to show a dog in the CACC shelter being euthanized, left on the floor and then put on a cart with other dead animals.

CPD served a search warrant at CACC in August as part of an ongoing investigation.

“We remain committed to transparency and accountability as we move forward with this matter,” Tucker said in both posts.
