Columbus police arrested a man in connection with a shooting that happened Thursday in Linden.

Kristion Gresham, 21, faces a charge of murder in the death of Delvon Wilerson Jr., 21. Police responded about 5:17 p.m. to the 1000 block of E 21st Avenue for a report of a shooting and found Gresham suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an altercation between Gresham and Wilerson, though they have not disclosed what led to that disagreement.

Gresham was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said. According to the report, Gresham was shot by a still-unidentified person also involved in the fight.

About a half-hour later, police received another report that someone drove Wilkerson to the 2000 block of Kenny Road. Police said medics took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m., roughly an hour after police received their initial call.

Police are still investigating the shooting, and Gresham remains hospitalized for his injuries.
