An Area Starbucks Is Getting a Major Interior Renovation

According to a permit filed with the city, the Starbucks located at 1187 Polaris Pkwy is getting an interior overhaul. Details in the permit filing, along with construction documents associated with the filing, outline plans for a “demo” that includes removal of all interior non-load bearing partitions, as well as work to the doors, ceilings, restrooms, front and back service bars and upgrades to the finishes.

The store will also receive modifications to the existing ductwork as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, with the total cost for the renovations projected at $400,000, per the permit application.

Additional work at the site includes customer facing enhancements in the drive-thru, such as upgrades to the ordering screen and outdoor menu boards, which was previously reported by What Now Columbus and that reporting was based on a separately filed permit that detailed exterior improvements to the stand alone building.

The timeline for the renovations at the location isn’t clear, and requests for comment haven’t been returned by the company, however, according to Google, the location is listed as temporarily closed.

The coffee chain has locations throughout the U.S. and across the world, with coffee offerings that include drip style along with espresso beverages and cold brew. Additionally, Starbucks serves a number of tea based drinks as well as lemonade, pastries, breakfast items and other light bites.
