Potbelly Sandwich Works to Open a Store Near OSU

According to a recent Columbus Business First article, Potbelly Sandwich Works is planning to open an additional Columbus store located at 2108 N High St. Currently, Papa Johns is the tenant in the space, but the pizza eatery is slated to vacate the location within the next 60 days, per information provided by the building’s management team, according to the article.

Last fall, What Now Columbus broke the news that franchise group Royal Restaurant Group announced its plans to open 17 stores in the Columbus area over a period of eight years. At that time, Randy Pianin, CEO and co-founder of Royal Restaurant Group, shared that the company planned to open its fifth location somewhere in the greater Columbus region by the end of 2024, but an exact location wasn’t announced by the company last fall.

Potbelly Sandwich Works serves sandwiches, soups and salads, along with desserts like cookies and milkshakes. Some sandwich selections include the Italian, made with salami, capicola, pepperoni, mortadella and provolone, and steakhouse beef that features angus roast beef, crumbled blue cheese, provolone and horseradish aioli. There’s also mac and cheese and  soup choices that range from chili, loaded baked potato, broccoli cheddar and garden vegetable.

Royal Restaurant Group is the franchise group for Potbelly Sandwich Works, in addition to numerous Burger King restaurants in the greater Jacksonville, Florida metropolitan area.

What Now Columbus reached out to the franchise group to learn the anticipated opening date for the North High Street location, but a request for comment was not immediately returned.
