Permit Filing Shows Multi-Concept Restaurant and Lounge Could Be on Its Way to Vacant Downtown Space

According to a permit filing, a multi-concept restaurant and lounge space may be on its way to downtown Columbus. Per details found in the filing and architectural plans associated with the project that were included in the city permit application, the new concepts will be located at 20 S 3rd St. Further information in the architectural documents show the projected cost for the concepts is projected at $4 million.

The construction documents don’t include names of the concepts, but details show that the project will include a tapas bar and tavern that offers a patio space, a taproom with a patio, along with an area marked “Galleria Restaurant” with an adjacent space marked as a “social lobby” which will provide seating for around 40 guests. As detailed on the commercial property listing website LoopNet, the space where the concepts will be housed is known as the Galleria at PNC Plaza Center, and features floor-to-ceiling glass windows and, the website notes, there is an existing restaurant space on site.

The construction documents list Columbus architectural design firm Design Collective as the architect of record for the project and Makeready as the operator of the forthcoming restaurant concepts. Makeready is part of Columbus based investment firm Rockbridge Capital and the company manages Columbus eateries including Little West Tavern and Brass Eye at The Junto hotel, the newly opened Hank’s Lowcountry Seafood & Raw Bar, as well as the forthcoming French bistro concept Chouette .

What Now Columbus reached out to Makeready to learn more about the concepts, but a representative stated that the company was unable to share any details surrounding the project at this time.
