Urban Meyer's Bold Take on Ohio State's 2024 Roster is Turning Heads

Urban Meyer is once again making headlines. The former Ohio State Buckeyes head coach had a bold proclamation about his old team.

Meyer has long been a proponent of his former squad since leaving Ohio State, but his effusive praise of this year's Buckeyes team is turning heads.

The three-time national title winner voiced his opinion on what this team boasts heading into the upcoming season.

"This is one of the most talented rosters in the last decade, maybe ever. I mean, that's a big statement. They've gotta play, but you look at the quality of athlete at every position, I've never seen anything like it."

If accurate, that's high praise coming from the Buckeyes legend. Several great Ohio State players emerged from Columbus as NFL stars over Meyer's run with the program. Running back Ezekiel Elliott and edge rushers Joey Bosa and Nick Bosa headline that group.

Could this team be even greater than Meyer's Buckeyes? It's not out of the question. The talented depth is there.

Outside of questions at quarterback with Kansas State transfer Will Howard, it's uncertain if anybody matches what the Buckeyes roster has in experienced talent.

The pass rushing duo of JT Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer gives the Buckeyes a decided advantage over many pass protecting lines in college football .

Add what the team has at skill positions with Emeka Egbuka leading receivers and a two-headed rushing monster in TreyVeon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, and the Buckeyes may very well enter the College Football Playoff with a 13-0 record.

Ohio State kicks off the season against the Akron Zips on Aug. 31.
