Ohio State and recruiting the state of Alabama is going extremely well in the class of 2025 and it could get even better.

Five-star cornerback Na’eem Offord and four-star defensive end Zion Grady are two current commitments to the Buckeyes out of the state of Alabama. Grady committed to the Buckeyes on Monday following his official visit last weekend .

Now, the Buckeyes are attempting to flip current Auburn verbal commitment and defensive tackle Malik Autry. Autry took his official visit to Columbus this past weekend and the vibes from that visit feel very high.

Ohio State did not offer Autry until May 5. but they’ve been involved heavily since that happened. Autry has taken official visits to Florida, USC, and UCF. The Buckeyes do not have a true interior player committed yet in the current cycle. Four-star London Merritt from IMG Academy is more of a tweener between EDGE and the interior.

Committed to Auburn on Feb. 1. but has continued to take visits since then, giving the sense that a flip possibility is there. Autry is a giant that is listed at 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds. Last year as a junior, the Alabama native recorded 56 tackles (9 TFL), 7 QBH, and 3.5 sacks at Opelika High School.

Autry and four-star defensive lineman Trajen Odom are two interior players the Buckeyes remain after in the soon-to-be senior class. Ohio State currently has the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in 2024 with Alabama, Notre Dame, and Georgia behind them, per 247 Sports.

Going down south and getting another commit would be a big win for the Buckeyes and their historical defensive recruiting class that they are putting together.
