Butcher & Rose, a new steakhouse from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, will join the downtown Columbus dining scene this Saturday.

Located on the ground floor of Edwards Cos.' Preston Centre at 155 E. Broad St., the restaurant will serve dinner seven nights a week, from 4-10 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 4-9 p.m. on Sundays.

The dinner menu features classic steakhouse selections with a "Butcher's Selection" to offer diners a chance to fully experience the natural and distinct flavors of cuts originating from Japan to New York and Australia.

Beyond the steak, diners can enjoy classic sides such as French fries, loaded baked potatoes or baked mac and cheese, as well as a selection of seafood items such as lobster tail, salmon steak or Alaskan king-crab legs. Though starting with only dinner service, the restaurant may introduce lunch service this fall.

Butcher & Rose is Cameron Mitchell Restaurants' first steakhouse in 16 years since the company sold Mitchell's Steakhouse in 2008. Katie Lundy, a publicist for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants at Inspire PR Group, said the restaurant group hopes to contribute to the draw of the Downtown area.

"We're very excited about what this will mean for the Columbus downtown area and the resurgence of people coming back (to) Downtown, and having a fine-dining option there is going to not only give them an amazing selection of steaks that they can't get anywhere else, but also has that softness to it as well," Lundy said.

Butcher & Rose's atmosphere introduces a feminine element to the traditionally masculine steakhouse, Lundy said. Adorned with hanging floral decorations and featuring artwork by local female artists, the restaurant will also feature views to the Preston Centre's sunken garden.

"It's not your grandfather's steakhouse, certainly," she said.

Limited reservations are still available for opening weekend. Reservations can be made online at butcherandrose.com/reservations/.
