One person is dead after a Wednesday morning collision with roadside objects sheared a vehicle in half, Columbus police say.

Kevin L. Foster, 56 was westbound on East Main Street near the intersection of Wilson Avenue about 1:50 a.m. in a 2013 Honda Accord. He lost control of his car, drove off the passenger side of the road and struck several roadside objects, according to a police report.

The impact sheared the car in half, according to a police report. EMS pronounced Foster dead at the scene.

The Columbus Division of Police accident investigation unit is investigating the reason Foster lost control of his vehicle.

Anyone with information about the crash can contact the accident investigation unit at 614-645-4767, or submit an anonymous tip to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
