    Temporary closure of U.S. 69 railroad crossing for repairs

    (KOAM) - The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has announced that starting Monday, July 15, 2024, the BNSF Railway will close the U.S. 69 railroad crossing at the south city limits of Columbus to carry out essential repairs.

    The crossing is expected to remain closed for three days , weather permitting.

    During the closure, U.S. 69 will be inaccessible at the work zone. Traffic should follow the signed detour routes via U.S. 160, U.S. 400/69A, and U.S. 69 to navigate around the closure.
