A first-timer's trip to Brown Bag Deli

A trip to Brown Bag Delicatessen helped me cross another thing off of my " never have I ever " list of Columbus staples .

Case in point: The one pictured above is half a sandwich. I barely finished it.

What I ate: The Village Addiction, a fan favorite with smoked turkey, havarti, and cranberry mayonnaise on grilled sourdough bread, with a side of red-skinned potato salad ($15 total).

    • I also couldn't pass up a deviled egg ($1.50).

💭 My thought bubble: It was as dense as it was delicious — a sweet, savory sandwich equivalent to a comforting Thanksgiving dinner.

    • I didn't understand why the restaurant offered a "three-side combo" as a meal until I tried the creamy, tangy potato salad.
    • I regret filling up on the sandwich and not sampling more deli salads. Next time!

Stop by: 11am-8pm daily, 898 Mohawk St.
