Reed Sheppard might just be the most talented offensive prospect in this year's draft class. After playing one season of college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats, he entered the draft as a projected first-rounder. But during the combine and his team workouts, that's where he saw the leap into being a lottery pick, selected by the Houston Rockets.

For a decade, Ohio State was led by a string of Heisman contenders at quarterback. In 2023, Kyle McCord was unable to reach similar success to his predecessors like CJ Stroud and Justin Fields as the Buckeyes missed the playoffs. Enter Will Howard from Kansas State to hopefully provide stability for the Buckeye offense. Howard is known for his physicality and toughness as a runner and poise as a passer. Will he be as dynamic as the last transfer quarterback, Fields? Probably not, but Howard doesn’t need to be anyone but himself in order to lead Ohio State to a championship. He is a proven winner after leading the Wildcats to a Big 12 championship. He adds value in the run game that the Buckeyes were missing with Stroud and McCord. As long as Howard is a dependable passer that can handle Big Ten defenses, the talent around him should push the Buckeyes to another high-scoring season. If Howard is the upgrade Ohio State was looking for under center, they will be in strong contention for another title.
