The 2024 college football season is highly anticipated due to the expansion of the College Football Playoff. Now, 12 teams will be included instead of only four, including all four Power Four champions.

This means that a team like Florida State, which went undefeated and won the ACC but didn't make it into the playoff last year, would now have a chance to compete. This season is also highly anticipated due to the number of great teams at the top. Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, Alabama and Oregon are just a few worth mentioning.

ESPN's Paul Finebaum revealed his top three teams heading into the season: Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon.

"I would go with Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon as the top three," Finebaum said.

ESPN's Football Power Index somewhat agrees with Finebaum, which measures a team's strength and is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance for the rest of the season. The FPI has Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon in its top four but ranks the Longhorns as the No. 3 team ahead of Ohio State.

According to the FPI, these are the top four teams predicted to make the College Football Playoff, play in the national championship game and win the national championship. All four teams are projected to win 10 games, with Oregon having the highest win prediction at 10.8.
