Columbus police said they received a call at around 2:14 p.m. Thursday on a report of a shooting at a Sunoco gas station in the 1600 block of North High Street. Responding officers found one male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Medics transported the male to OhioHealth Grant Hospital, Downtown, where he was pronounced dead at 3:06 p.m., police said.

Police said at least one of the shooting suspects fled the scene in a black, four-door Lexus and are asking for the public's help in identifying either the car or the suspect.

No information on the victim was immediately available, pending confirmation of his identity and notification of family. If anyone has any information on the vehicle or the suspect, they are asked to contact the Columbus police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730.

The homicide investigation temporarily shut down South High Street just south of Greenlawn Avenue and north of Route 104 for several hours Thursday as detectives and crime scene technicians canvassed the area and collected evidence.
