Five defensive prospects who should be at Ohio State this weekend

COLUMBUS — Ohio State has elected to not host any kind of major recruiting event this weekend. Even though the dead period temporarily ended, the Buckeyes aren’t bringing in many — if any — guests to campus this weekend.

Lettermen Row takes some time to look at five defensive prospects who should be on campus this weekend, but won’t be.

    Bralan Womack

Ohio State has made four-star Brandon (Miss) Hartfield Academy safety Bralan Womack one of its top priorities in the 2026 cycle. Womack is the No. 31 overall prospect and the No. 3 safety in the On3 Industry Rankings. He camped at Ohio State in June and that’s when he earned his offer, but another visit this summer would have been good for the Buckeyes.

Womack shared with Lettermen Row he wants to visit for ‘at least’ one game this fall.

    Jordan Thomas

Four-star Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic athlete Jordan Thomas is another prospect who camped at Ohio State in June but won’t be on campus this weekend. Thomas, the No. 231 overall prospect and No. 17 athlete in the On3 Industry Rankings, will actually be at Michigan on Sunday.

There is a chance Thomas will visit Ohio State this fall, however. Bergen Catholic plays at Massillon Washington on the Friday before the Buckeyes’ home tilt against Western Michigan.

    Jireh Edwards

Four-star Upper Marlboro (Md) St. Frances Academy safety Jireh Edwards is another prospect who camped at Ohio State this summer. Safeties coach Matt Guerrieri has put Edwards in the same category as Womack on that top shelf for 2026.

Edwards is slated to visit Oregon this weekend instead of Ohio State. The Ducks have had good fortune with the St. Frances program.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Marylander is the No. 56 overall prospect and the No. 6 safety in the On3 Industry Rankings.

    Jahkeem Stewart

This would have been a tough pull even if Ohio State was hosting an event, but still, it has to give it its all. Five-star Plus+ Reserve (La) St. Augustine defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart will be back at LSU this weekend. The Tigers going to do everything in their power to not let Stewart leave the Boot.

While the nation’s top-ranked overall prospect will be at LSU this weekend, he is expected to see Ohio State twice this fall. Once on the road and once in Ohio Stadium.

    Storm Miller

When coming up with this list in my head, it was hard shaking off four-star Strongsville (Ohio) linebacker Storm Miller . The Buckeyes only offered him in June after he camped with linebackers coach James Laurinaitis. The issue here is that Miller has relationships with Clemson where his older brother Blake Miller plays.

The Tigers have made Miller an early priority, but Laurinaitis has proven himself thus far on the recruiting trail. Having Miller on campus this weekend would have been good for Ohio State.
