The 2024 college football season is just weeks away. Hundreds of teams across the country are preparing themselves for what they hope is a winning season. This season, the playoffs are finally expanding. Instead of four teams making the college football playoff, 12 teams will be in the playoffs. Teams who could not find their way into the top four now have a chance to make a playoff run. Heading into 2024, several teams believe they have what it takes to be national champions. That includes the Ohio State Buckeyes and their head coach Ryan Day. On BetMGM, bettors have the Buckeyes as their favorite choice to win the National Championship. Ohio State is (+325) to win it all. Despite BetMGM bettors loving Ohio State, they are not the betting favorites to win it all. The Georgia Bulldogs have the lowest odds at (+300) to win the National Championship.

Ohio State has a loaded roster in 2024

In 2024, Ohio State is lucky enough to return over half of its starters from the previous season. That includes six players on offense and nine from the defense. Two key players are returning on the offense for the Buckeyes, that includes RB TreVeyon Henderson. He’s returning for his senior season in 2024. His best campaign was in 2021 with 1,248 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns as a freshman. Graduate WR Emeka Egbuka is back for his final season with Ohio State. Egbuka was the team’s WR2 over the last few seasons with Marvin Harrison Jr. ahead of him on the depth chat. MHJ was drafted by the Cardinals and Egbuka has the chance to have his best collegiate season yet.

To upgrade their offense in the transfer portal, the Buckeyes went out and got former Ole Miss RB Quinshon Judkins. He rushed for at least 1,110+ yards and 15 touchdowns in each of his first two seasons with the Rebels. Judkins is an elite addition to their backfield. At QB, the Buckeyes hit the transfer portal as well. Former Kansas State QB Will Howard is now the lead signal caller for Ohio State. Howard will have a high-powered offense around him as Ohio State looks to be one of the best teams in the country.
