Former Ohio State Wide Receiver Garrett Wilson Feeling Recharged, Hungry for First NFL Postseason
Even with a second consecutive 1,000-yard season to open his NFL career, Garrett Wilson left 2023 with a disappointed feeling. A season-ending Achilles tear to star New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers left the team in disarray, and they limped to a 7-10 finish that matched their record from Wilson’s 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign.
Minor League Recap - Lake County Wins the Game and Gains Bazzana
COL 6 - LOU 4. The Columbus Clippers took on the Louisville Bats (CIN) Friday night. Doug Nikhazy took the mound and showed that he was, in fact, capable of giving up a run. It was a bit of a rough night for the 24-year-old LHP. Nikhazy needed 83 pitches to get through 4.0 innings. In that unplanned short start, he gave up 3 hits, 3 walks, and allowed 2 runs. He struck out 4. Despite what is not a great box score, Nikhazy still maintains a sub 1.00 ERA at 0.86 ERA. The Clippers turned to 26-year-old righty Nick Mikolajchak for the 5th inning. He also struggled slightly against the Bats, giving up 3 hits and allowing 1 earned run. Jose Tena committed a fielding error to start the bottom of the 5th, allowing the lead off hitter to reach base and ultimately score. LHP Erik Sabrowski locked it in for the Clippers and went 1.2 innings, throwing 29 pitches. He did not give up a hit or allow a run, but did walk 3 and did not strike out a batter. It would be enough of an effort, paired with a successful offense, to earn Sabrowski the win. His record improves to 3-1. The righty Peter Strzelecki recorded his 7th hold of the season, coming in to finish the 7th inning and pitch the 8th. He only walked 1 batter and struck out a batter in his 1.2 innings pitched. Right hander Andrew Walters recorded his 3rd save, pitching the 9th inning. Walters allowed 1 hit and struck out 1.

A look at Columbus Crew secondary transfer window additions, Dylan Chambost, Aziel Jackson
As an MLS coach, Wilfried Nancy has recruited several players outside of the league, but those talks have gone nowhere because of one particular roadblock: The players, when asked about playing in MLS, see it as something they want to do further down the line, which raises an immediate red flag for the Crew coach.
Franklin County GOP calls on Republican county engineer to resign
Despite being an elected office, the Franklin County Engineer's post - responsible for building and maintaining roads, bridges and other public infrastructure not covered by a municipality - has seldom been the focus of political fireworks. But that changed this week when the Franklin County Republican Party accused acting County Engineer Brad...
Wildfire smoke could again pollute Ohio's air this summer. Here's how to prepare.
The U.S. EPA said people in the Great Lakes region should prepare for potential wildfire smoke exposure this summer, which can worsen air quality. The EPA says climate change is fueling more frequent wildfires and a longer wildfire season in the western U.S. and Canada. And the smoke from those flames are drifting to the Midwest, affecting air quality here in Ohio.

Facebook report challenges claims that fracking is 'environmentally-friendly'
A new Facebook page monitoring thousands of fracking-related accidents and cleanups happening nearly every day over the last nine years challenges the Ohio gas and oil industry's claims that it's environmentally-friendly. Report trends indicate a pattern of lax regulation along with superficial attempts to clean up oil, gas and radioactive fracking wastewater from lands and water across the state, according to FracTracker Alliance, a national nonprofit that studies, maps, and communicates the risks and impacts of oil, gas, and petrochemical development. ...
