Richmond parish festival on the go with fan-favorite events
St. Augustine Catholic Church is on the go with golfing, a cruise-in and cornhole this summer, as the church’s annual Parish Festival returns to Richmond Aug. 8 to 11. Festival Chairperson Valerie Oehmke said via email on July 5 that the St. Augustine Parish Festival remains the church’s largest fundraiser of the year. Although there is no cost to attend the festival as a whole, proceeds raised from individual activities at the festival benefit the church.
71-year-old Warren man calls 911, says he killed his wife
WARREN, Mich. (FOX 2) - A 71-year-old Warren man is facing murder charges after he allegedly killed his wife over the weekend and then called 911 to report the murder. James Michael Hentges is accused of using a pillow to suffocate his wife, Cheryl Hentges, inside the couple's home in the 24000 block of Loretta Avenue near Stephens and Ryan on Saturday. Several hours later, he called 911 and told the dispatcher that he had killed his wife and attempted suicide by harming himself and taking pills.

Croswell City Council paves the way for street construction updates, future Pioneer Days Exploratory Meetings
With summer in full swing, the Croswell City Council met this past Monday to provide citizens with construction updates and future Pioneer Days Exploratory Meetings. Despite running into some hurdles with asphalt top coating, council members reported that work on Wells Street is still going strong. A formal construction meeting will be held next week to discuss the official start date for Ward Street. It was also announced that the July 1 Pioneer Days Exploratory Meeting was a resounding success. There were plenty of people present and plenty of ideas thrown around.

Port Huron prepares for a parade
