BENJAMIN ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Two-time defending Nexstar Sports Awards small school male athlete of the year winner Grayson Rigdon is leaving Texoma.

The former Benjamin multi-sport star is taking his talents to Columbus High School for his senior season in 2024-25. The Cardinals are a class 3A Division I program located between Houston and San Antonio.

Rigdon led Benjamin to back-to-back football state championships in 2022 and 2023.

The Mustangs never lost a game from the moment he came in as a sophomore. In fact, they won almost all of them by 45-point mercy rule.

Rigdon also led the purple and white to the state basketball tournament in both of his seasons with the team.

After graduating high school, he is committed to playing Division I football at the Air Force Academy.
