A new movie from Kenneth Branagh, The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde, has added Patricia Arquette and six more to the cast.

In May 2024, it was announced that Jodie Comer would star in The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde, which is written and directed by Branagh.

Per Deadline, Arquette (Boyhood, True Romance) has now joined the cast of the movie, as has Michael Sheen (Good Omens, Underworld), Tom Bateman (Death on the Nile), Vicky McClure (Line of Duty), Michael Balogun (Sherwood), Kristina Tonteri-Young (Warrior Nun) and Karla Crome (Carnival Row).

Additionally, the cast of The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde includes Aiysha Hart (Atlantis) and Gemma Whelan (Killing Eve).

Plot details are being kept under wraps at this time, though Deadline describes it as a “contemporary psychological thriller.” An independently financed film, The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde is currently filming in the United Kingdom.

Tamar Thomas, Laura Berwick, Becca Kovacik, Matthew Jenkins, Ashley Fox, and Johnny Pariseau produce the film.

What other movies has Kenneth Branagh made?

Kenneth Branagh is best known for directing Shakespeare adaptations, as he previously made 1989’s Henry V, 1993’s Much Ado About Nothing, 1996’s Hamlet, and 2006’s As You Like It. He’s also responsible for the recent Hercule Poirot films — which include 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, 2022’s Death on the Nile, and 2023’s A Haunting in Venice — in addition to 1994’s Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, 2011’s Thor, 2014’s Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, 2015’s Cinderella, 2020’s Artemis Fowl, and 2021’s Belfast.

As an actor, Branagh recently played Niels Bohr in Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning Oppenheimer. He’ll soon be seen in Mayday, a new movie from Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley that co-stars Ryan Reynolds, Maria Bakalova, and more.

An official release date for The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde has not yet been announced.
