    K-pop girl group UNIS members profile explored

    South Korean girl group UNIS which features eight members have recently made their comeback with the single album, Curious. Within two days of its release, the title song, “Curious” has been declared a certified hit, clocking over 2.5 million views on YouTube.

    Here, we look at the profiles of eight members: Hyeonju, Nana, Gehlee, Kotoko, Yunha, Elisia, Yoona, and Seowon, including their ages, birthdays, and positions in the group.

    Hyeonju

    (Birthday: November 3, 2001)

    Jin Hyeonju is the lead vocalist and leader of the new group UNIS. The rookie star was a former member of GOOD DAY, and her stage name was Lucky. She is also a member of K-pop group cignature under the stage name Belle. Hyeonju ranked sixth in the finale of Universe Ticket, scoring over 496,797 points. The 22-year-old singer considers SNSD’s Seohyun and BLACKPINK‘s Jennie her role model.

    Nana

    (Birthday: June 6, 2007)

    Japanese member Nana is UNIS’ main dancer and sub-vocalist. In addition to her K-pop career, she is an active idol in Japan. The 17-year-old star is a member of the J-pop girl group PRIKIL. Nana ranked third in the finale of Universe Ticket. She considers TWICE icon Momo her ultimate music inspiration.

    Gehlee

    (Birthday: August 19, 2007)

    Gehlee is among the few Filipina rookies who made it to the K-pop industry by showing off her charms in the survival show Universe Ticket. The 17-year-old artist ranked fourth in the finale, scoring 2,464,526 points. Gehlee considers TWICE Jihyo to be her role model.

    Kotoko

    (Birthday: October 28, 2007)

    Japanese member Kotoko ranked eighth in the Universe Ticket finale. She scored 470,502 points and secured her position in the group. The 16-year-old rookie performs as one of the group’s sub-rappers. Kotoko’s biggest inspiration in K-pop are Aespa Winter ad NewJeans Hanni.

    Yunha

    (Birthday: February 28, 2009)

    Yunha ranked second in the Universe Ticket finale. Her stellar vocals led her to become the group’s lead vocalist. The 15-year-old rookie is multi-talented. She previously practiced ballet before joining K-pop.

    Elisia

    (Birthday: April 18, 2009)

    Filipina star Elisia ranked first in the Universe Ticket finale. She won the “Prisom Ticket” and went on to become UNIS’s main vocalist. The 15-year-old singer has previously achieved a blue belt in taekwondo.

    Yoona

    (Birthday: October 7, 2009)

    In a vocalist-heavy group like UNIS, Yoona’s talent as a rapper stands out. The 15-year-old has become the group’s main rapper. Yoona ranked seventh in the Universe Ticket finale with 472,180 points. She considers IU her biggest music inspiration.

    Seowon

    (Birthday: January 27, 2011)

    Seowon is the youngest member of UNIS. The talented maknae ranked 5th in the Universe Ticket finale, scoring over 559,943 points. Before joining F&F Entertainment, Seowon made her solo debut in 2021 with the single “Shoulder Dance.”

    Meanwhile, UNIS is all set to promote its new single album, Curious, in August. The K-pop octet will appear at the 2024 Ulsan Summer Festival on August 12. Later, the group will also attend the K-World Dream Award on August 22 for a stage performance. Elsewhere, UNIS member Nana will be seen every Tuesday in the weekly music program, The Show.
