HBO Max Schedule August 12-18 2024: New TV Shows & Movies Being Added

HBO Max‘s new TV and movie releases for August 12-18 2024 include Rick and Morty: The Anime and the documentary Chimp Crazy.

On August 16, HBO Max subscribers can check out Rick and Morty: The Anime. In this adaptation, Rick can be seen having some leisure time in a pseudo-world situated between multiverses. Meanwhile, Summer and Space Beth are warring with the Galactic Federation, and Morty is depicted falling in love with a mysterious girl, who unbeknownst to Morty is a temporal being.

Then on August 18, the documentary Chimp Crazy drops on HBO Max. This documentary follows Tonia Haddix, a nurse-turned-exotic animal broker, who claims to be the “Dolly Parton of chimps.” In this documentary, Haddix is shown spending her days taking care of animals in captivity. However, her strong bond and affection with one particular chimpanzee put her in a complicated situation with authorities and an animal rights group.

Also releasing on HBO Max this week as part of its schedule is The Legend of Tarzan.

The Legend of Tarzan is an action-adventure fantasy movie starring Alexander Skarsgard in the title role. Directed by David Yates and based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan of the Apes, the story sees Tarzan, now living a wealthy life as a nobleman in London with Jane Porter, returning to his jungle home to investigate a colonial mining operation.
