Upcoming New Thai GL Dramas: Affair, Pluto & More

2024 has proven to be a great time to be a fan of Thai GL (Girl Love) dramas. While the Thai entertainment world is famous for its BL (Boy Love) catalog, GL shows are also becoming increasingly popular. Blank The Series was released earlier this year and became an instant success. On the other hand, 23.5’s high school romance warmed viewers’ hearts. Recently, the popular GL pair Freen and Becky returned to the screens in The Loyal Pin. It is safe to say that the future of Thai GL is looking bright, as there are equally exciting projects to look forward to. On that note, here’s a list of the upcoming new Thai GL dramas.

Affair

The upcoming Affair The Series is set to premiere on Friday, August 30, 2024, starring Sonya Saranphat Pedersen and Lookmhee Punyapat Wangpongsathaporn. The storyline follows Seang Pleng (Sonya), the boss’ daughter, who forms a close bond with Wanviva (Lookmhee), the maid’s daughter, as they grow up together. Things take a turn when Seang Pleng’s family goes bankrupt and loses everything. She’s forced to walk away from Wanviva. However, the childhood friends reunite after more than a decade.

The drama will be available to watch on iQIYI and the CHANGE2561 YouTube channel.

Reverse 4 You

Another new Thai GL drama releasing this month is Reverse 4 You The Series. It will premiere on Saturday, August 31, 2024, starring Christine Gulasatree Michalsky and Mae Methakarn Anektanasuwan. It follows Jattawa (Mae), a girl who has the power to control time. On the other hand, Vivi, her younger sister, can see the future. She has a vision that Jattawa will meet her lover on a snowy day. The person Vivi sees in her vision is Four (Christine). However, Jattawa finds it hard to believe because her senior, Four, has a bad reputation at the university.

Unlock Your Love

The Thai GL drama Unlock Your Love stars B Mine Jiratchaya Komontut and Near Inthira Thammajaroen in the lead roles. Furthermore, Chacha Rita Ramnarong and Cake Nawaporn Chansuk join the two in supporting roles. Unlock Your Love will premiere on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Rain (Near) locked up her heart after getting cheated on in her past relationship. Her world is brightened again when Love (B Mine) comes into her life. She eventually brings down Rain’s walls. Besides them, the drama also follows the romance of the second pair, Dean (Chacha) and Pat (Cake).

Pluto

Pluto is another highly anticipated upcoming Thai GL drama. The GMMTV project was unveiled during the GMMTV 2024 PART 1 lineup event. Pluto is currently under production and is yet to announce its release date. Nonetheless, it is expected to arrive later this year.

Pluto’s storyline revolves around the twin sisters, Ai-oon and Ob-oom (Namtan Tipnaree Weerawatnodom). The latter asks her sister for a favor on her wedding night. Ob-oom tells Ai-oon to end things with May (Film Rachanun Mahawan), her lover, in her place. Tragedy strikes when Ob-oom and her new husband get into an accident. To fulfill her sister’s request, Ai-oon approaches May but is shocked when she discovers the latter is a blind woman. While Ob-oom is in a coma, Ai-oon decides to stay by May’s side.

Furthermore, fans can also look forward to the Thai GL dramas Sunshine in the Wind, Us, Mate, and The Last Case.
