The world of Family Guy is officially getting ready to appear on Comedy Central , as Paramount and Disney have struck a deal to allow for the hit comedy series to air on Comedy Central.

When does Family Guy start airing on Comedy Central?

Family Guy will begin airing library episodes of the hit series on Comedy Central on September 2, where it’ll join other popular comedies like South Park and Futurama. The series comes to Comedy Central as part of a licensing deal between Paramount and Disney, the latter of which owns the rights to the comedy, which will begin airing new episodes on Wednesdays this fall on Fox.

To kick off the move, Comedy Central will host an all-day marathon of Family Guy episodes beginning on Labor Day, before the series then begins airing in its regular rotation spot as part of the network’s primetime lineup.

“We are excited to welcome Family Guy to Comedy Central joining the best in adult animation alongside South Park, Futurama, and Beavis and Butt-Head, among others,” said Laurel Weir, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks. “Delivering bold, irreverent and culturally impactful content to our fans is our top priority which makes Family Guy the perfect complement to our robust adult animation slate.”

Family Guy originally premiered on Fox in 1999, and was actually canceled in 2002 after just three seasons. However, after the show experienced successful DVD sales and began airing in syndication on Adult Swim, the show was revived, and has been on the air since. In total, over 400 episodes of Family Guy have aired across 22 seasons.

The series now airs on Wednesday nights as of 2023, marking the first time in more than 20 years that the show had begun airing on weeknights. Created by and starring Seth MacFarlane, Family Guy also stars in the series alongside Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis, Mike Henry, Patrick Warburton, and Arif Zahir.
