The band Ashes & Arrows, otherwise known as Ashes and Arrows, became the surprise semifinalist for America’s Got Talent. The three-man musical group passed through the quarterfinals on the AGT 2024 live shows, earning more votes than other favorites, like golden buzzer-winner Liv Warfield. While the NBC intros have provided some details about the folk band throughout the talent show, there is some information that viewers may not know about the band. Here’s everything we know so far about Ashes & Arrows on AGT Season 19.

What happened to Ashes & Arrows so far on AGT 2024?

Ashes & Arrows became one of the semifinalists for AGT 2024 after earning enough votes in the results show on August 14, 2024.

The band has thus far performed two original songs, “Born To Love” during the auditions and “Wild Horses” in the quarterfinals. That’s impressive, considering that other singers and musical artists on the show typically play covers of songs that are more well-known.

To reach the finale and the $1 million grand prize, Ashes & Arrows will need to get through to the semifinal round that will likely start around September 10, 2024 given that the quarterfinals will take three weeks to complete. Even if they don’t win, though, their appearances on the show will help showcase their talents to a broader audience, which is fantastic for a relatively unknown band.

Who is Ashes & Arrows and what songs can they sing?

Ashes & Arrows is a self-described country/rock band that formed in downtown Asheville in 2021 during a open mic night and launched their first Extended Play called Forward in 2022.

According to the bio on their official website, the name Ashes & Arrows refers to both Asheville, North Carolina and Arrowtown, New Zealand. The band consists of three members: vocalist and pianist Benjamin Voigt, vocalist and guitarist Ciaran McMeeken, and vocalist and guitarist Jonathan Calhoun. Their musical inspirations include The Avett Brothers, Judah & The Lion, and NEEDTOBREATHE.

While the band is fairly new, they have many other original songs in their repertoire that we might see during the semifinals and onward. There’s “The Crown” and “On The Run,” which are both available on Spotify. From their album Forward, there’s “Back to Your Body,” “Gold in the Mountain,” and several more. On their YouTube page, they have music videos for “It’s Alright,” “Pirate Song,” “Song Remains the Same,” and many more.

Ashes & Arrows plan to release an album in the future produced by Jamie Tate, a Grammy and Emmy award-winning mixer and recording engineer.
