    A Nightmare on Elm Street 4K Release Date Set for 40th Anniversary

    In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has announced the A Nightmare on Elm Street 4K and Blu-ray release dates of the remastered version of Wes Craven’s 1984 horror thriller starring Robert Englund.

    “Can your nightmares be fatal? In this classic of the horror film genre that launched a movie franchise, a hideously scarred man who was murdered by a lynch mob returns years later in the terrifying nightmares of his killer’s teenage children… and the dreaming teenagers are starting to die in their sleep,” reads the official synopsis.

    When is the A Nightmare on Elm Street 4K release date?

    The remastered version of A Nightmare on Elm Street will be available to purchase in 4K Ultra HD starting on October 1 in digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Fandango at Home and more. This will then be followed by its released on 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc on October 15, which will be available to buy online and in-store at major retailers.

    Listed below are the special features included in both the remastered film’s digital release and Ultra HD Blu-ray disc:

    • Commentary with Wes Craven, Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, Ronnie Blakely, Robert Shaye, and Sara Risher.

    • Never Sleep Again: A Nightmare on Elm Street
    • Night Terrors: The Origins of Wes Craven’s Nightmares

    The film was written and directed by Craven. Leading the cast was Englund as horror icon Freddy Krueger. The cast also included Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson, John Saxon as Don Thompson, Ronee Blakely as Marge Thompson, Amanda Wyss as Tina Gray, Nick Corri as Rod Lane, and Johnny Depp as Glen Lantz, with Insidious star Lin Shaye making a brief appearance as a teacher. At the time of writing, the film is still currently Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a Tomatometer rating of 95%.
