Wildwood Teaser Trailer Highlights Next Movie from Laika Studios

Laika Studios has officially released the first Wildwood teaser trailer, highlighting the title and some of what to expect from the highly anticipated new film from the stop-motion animation studio.

The new Wildwood teaser trailer doesn’t show off too much about the upcoming movie, but does tease a mysterious forest that was cultivated by original settlers. Dubbed “the impassable wilderness,” the woods are said to want to keep people away from whatever secrets are hiding inside.

No official release information is available for Wildwood outside of a 2025 release year.

What do we know about Wildwood?

“Prue McKeel and her best friend Curtis are drawn into a hidden, magical forest, after Prue’s baby brother Mac is kidnapped by crows, led by a mysterious woman named Alexandra,” reads the official film’s synopsis.

The film will be directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler, and based on the 2011 novel of the same by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Chris Butler. Wildwood will star Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Tom Waits, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, and Richard E. Grant.
