Emily in Paris star Lily Collins has recently cast doubt on the potential fifth season of the hit Netflix romantic comedy series. Her comments came during an interview on Vanity Fair’s Still Watching podcast, in which the Emmy-nominated actress expressed uncertainty about the future of the Darren Star-created series.

Collins said, in part: “We don’t even know what the endgame is when we start a season, because we don’t know where the season’s going to finish.”

Collins, who plays the lead role of Emily Cooper, did have some suggestions in terms of what she hoped to see if the Netflix show is renewed. She revealed that she would enjoy a change of scenery, with her character potentially making a stop in Tokyo. So far, however, no decision has been announced regarding Emily in Paris Season 5.

What could Emily in Paris Season 5 look like?

Emily in Paris Season 4 was split into two parts, with the second half arriving on September 12. The first half ended with a few reveals, chiefly that the character of Camile is not pregnant. There is also the continuing relationship conflict between Emily, Gabriel, and Alfie. Emily does break up with Alfie. However, despite the fact that the two aren’t together, they still have feelings for one another. The remaining episodes, which arrive in September, will have to address the fallout from earlier in the season before looking ahead to a potential fifth installment, which could start fresh or expand on the current storylines.

Along with Collins, the cast of Emily in Paris includes Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and William Abadie.

Emily in Paris is created, written, and executive produced by Darren Star. Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Andrew Fleming, Alison Brown, Robin Schif executive produce, with Stephen Brown, Grant Sloss, and Joe Murphy as co-EPs. Collins, meanwhile, produces Ryan McCormick, Raphaël Benoliel, and Jake Fuller. It’s produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Jax Media, and Darren Star Productions.
