A trigger warning has been issued for Blink Twice regarding some intense content featured in the film.

Blink Twice, formerly titled Pussy Island, is a new thriller movie directed by Zoë Kravitz. Releasing in theaters this coming weekend, the movie stars Channing Tatum, Naomi Ackie, and more.

The official Amazon MGM Studios X account has issued a trigger warning ahead of the movie’s release.

“We are proud to finally share Blink Twice with audiences in theaters worldwide this week,” the post reads. “Blink Twice is a psychological thriller about the abuse of power. While this is a fictionalized movie, it contains mature themes and depictions of violence – including sexual violence. This may be upsetting or triggering for some viewers. Blink Twice has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) for “strong violent content, sexual assault, drug use and language throughout, and some sexual references.”

    What is Blink Twice about?

“When tech billionaire Slater King meets Frida, he invites her to join him and his friends for a dream vacation on his private island,” the official synopsis for the movie reads. “However, as strange things start to happen, she’ll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out alive.”

Along with Tatum and Ackie, the movie stars Christian Slater, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Kyle MacLachlan, Haley Joel Osment, Geena Davis, Alia Shawkat, and Levon Hawke. Kravitz, who is making her feature film directorial debut with the film, co-wrote the script alongside E.T. Feigenbaum. She also produces the movie with Tatum, Bruce Cohen, Tiffany Persons, and Garret Levitz.

Blink Twice will be released in United States theaters on August 23, 2024, from Amazon MGM Studios.
