The couple met after matching on the dating app Hinge in 2015. Three years later, they got married while Pete was the mayor of South Bend, Indianapolis, for a second term. Even though his husband is mostly busy and on the road, Chasten told PEOPLE that Pete knows how to balance his life well. “Pete is really good about putting his phone down and flipping that switch,” said Chasten.
