Greg Mathis, best known for helming the popular reality court show Judge Mathis, is making the headlines in light of his recent separation from his wife Linda Mathis. Recent reports have stated that the couple is now on the verge of a divorce. But, are they really separating?

Here are all the details that have come to light about it.

Are the Judge Mathis star, Greg, and wife, Linda, getting divorced?

Yes, after 39 years of marriage, Judge Greg Mathis and his wife Linda Mathis have decided to call it quits and go their separate ways, as per reports.

Linda Mathis was the one to initiate the divorce, which she officially filed on Thursday, August 22, 2024, as per TMZ. The documents obtained by the tabloid news organization state that Linda Mathis cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation. No further details, personal or otherwise, have been made public regarding why the couple decided to split.

Linda Mathis has also asked for spousal support, according to the official filing. Additionally, she also opted for blocking the court’s ability to award Greg Mathis with spousal support.

The duo had been separated since July 17, TMZ reported, but there is no confirmation on whether there is a prenuptial agreement. However, there will be no custody battle and discussions on child support, as all the Mathis children are now adults.

Greg and Linda Mathis tied the knot in June 1985, after graduating from Eastern Michigan University. They have four children together. The oldest is Jade Mathis, followed by Camara Mathis. The two youngest sons are Greg Jr. and Amir Mathis, born in 1989 and 1990, respectively.

A retired Michigan 36th District Court Judge, Greg Mathis began his journey in the reality show Judge Mathis in 1999. The show aired for a total of 24 seasons.
