American TV personality and businesswoman Vicki Gunvalson recently had a major health scare. Alongside her boyfriend, Michael Smith, she described the recent incident related to her life-threatening condition on ‘My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast’ with Christian Gray Snow. So, let’s take a look at what exactly happened to the Real Housewives of Orange County star.

    Vicki Gunvalson shares health update

Vicki Gunvalson reportedly suffered from sepsis, a life-threatening condition caused by an infection.

RHOC’s Gunvalson recently shared a frightening narration of her health scare. In her recent ‘My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast’ episode, she detailed how a seemingly minor sinus infection turned into a life-threatening condition. Her boyfriend, Michael Smith, was also present to assist her with the same.

It began with a client noticing Gunvalson’s gibberish speech during a meeting. The client, a retired ER physician, realized the severity of the situation and told Olivia (Michael’s daughter) to take her to the hospital. She added that at first, she was misdiagnosed to have a sinus infection and was discharged soon. Michael then took over by mentioning that about three weeks ago, she had a sinus infection that lasted a little longer than usual.

“She got on antibiotics and was doing better. We went to Europe, and everything was OK, for the most part. But then when she got home on that Thursday night and Olivia called me, she (Vicki) was lethargic and really didn’t understand where she was,” Michael continued to explain.

Michael returned back home from work in Arizona, as soon as possible. However, just before he could reach home, Vicki seemingly decided to take a bath. “So, she’s in the bathtub with water and I walk in and she’s pretty much passed out. I grabbed her, pulled her out of the water, put her in bed,” Michael narrated.

When they got back to the hospital, they learned that it was actually sepsis caused by a massive infection related to pneumonia. According to Vicki, she only had a 10 to 20 percent chance of survival. However, she was told that she would be okay, but it would take her a while.
