Harry Potter alum Bonnie Wright, who had played the role of Ginny Weasley in the blockbuster film franchise, has revealed what she wants to see the most from HBO‘s upcoming TV adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved novel series.

What did Bonnie Wright say about the Harry Potter series?

During a recent interview, Wright has opened up about HBO’s Harry Potter series, revealing that she hopes that the new live-action adaptation would be able to feature more of Ginny and Harry’s relationship, including the “nuanced moments” from the books which better showcase how the characters fall in love with each other.

“More of the development of the relationship between Ginny and Harry,” Wright said (via Variety). “There’s nuanced moments of where they begin to fall in love. I think more of that arc of her character becoming this real loyal sidekick to Harry and how she really understands and knows his story and who he is and is the best partner for him. So I just hope we see that evolution of that character — and so many characters. If only we could have had five-hour movies. There are so many characters that have moments I love from the books — Neville and Luna — so I’m hoping as a fan of the books that I get to see more.”

HBO’s Harry Potter series is being written by Emmy winning-producer Francesca Gardiner (Killing Eve, Succession), who is executive producing alongside Mark Mylod, J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and long-time Harry Potter franchise producer David Heyman. Mylod, who has worked with HBO on Games of Thrones and The Last of Us, will also helm multiple episodes. It is a production by HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.

The project is described as a “decade-long” project with each season expected to adapt one book in Rowling’s acclaimed book series, which consists of The Philosopher’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows. It will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters fans have loved for over twenty-five years.
