WWE Superstars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes stand as two of the biggest stars on the SmackDown roster. WWE legend Jonathan Coachman believes that Roman Reigns’ return might lead to Cody Rhodes’ dissatisfaction.

Roman Reigns made his highly anticipated return at WWE SummerSlam, delivering a shocking attack on Solo Sikoa. This move set off a new chapter in The Bloodline saga, drawing significant attention from fans and WWE management alike. However, this renewed focus on The Bloodline could impact Cody Rhodes, the current Undisputed Champion.

Despite being the Undisputed Champion, Rhodes has found himself in the background as The Bloodline narrative takes center stage. At the WWE Bash in Berlin, the promotion booked Cody Rhodes in a match against Kevin Owens. Fans had eagerly anticipated a major storyline development, with many expecting Owens to turn heel and challenge Rhodes.

Instead, WWE chose to keep the match as a babyface vs. babyface encounter, disappointing some viewers who were hoping for a more dramatic twist. WWE legend Jonathan Coach has weighed in on the Cody Rhodes situation.

Johnathan Coachman on why Cody Rhodes might be frustrated

On the Behind the Turnbuckle podcast, Jonathan Coachman and former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci talked about Cody Rhodes’ current position in WWE. Coachman expressed concern that the intense focus on The Bloodline storyline might be frustrating for Rhodes.

Coachman noted that Roman Reigns’ return has significantly shifted the spotlight toward The Bloodline, overshadowing other key storylines, including Rhodes’. He questioned why Rhodes, a top star who deserves considerable attention, is not receiving more attention.

He stated, “If you’re Cody Rhodes, who we love, I would be incredibly frustrated at this point. He’s making the millions and he deservedly so, but now we know that Roman Reigns calls the shots. And this wouldn’t be happening if Roman Reigns walked in, would it? And said, ‘Hey guys, don’t forget about that guy. That’s not happening.”

Coachman further added, “Instead, I’ve got six or seven guys that we can make great television for an extended period of time.’ And this was what I was worried about. That’s why you move him over. You don’t have the two titles on two different shows. And you say, ‘Hey, you know what? For the next four weeks you’re gonna be a RAW guy and then when it makes sense, let’s move you back to SmackDown.'”

This past Friday on WWE SmackDown, Solo Sikoa issued a warning to Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. Sikoa announced his intention to target the winner of their match following the WWE Bash in Berlin. With Rhodes retaining his title against Owens, the question now is whether he will once again become a target of The Bloodline. If so, could Roman Reigns get involved and overshadow Rhodes once more? Only time will tell.
