Additionally, Ododa’s parents Sebastian and Heather Nelson-Ododo, and his siblings Olvia and Isiah are basketball players as well. While his parents have retired from the game, his siblings are actively playing for different players.

During his time at the University, Nelson-Ododa played for its team, Richmond Spiders. He reportedly went on to receive a degree in political science. Further, he played for the Danish Superliga or Denmark-Ligaen and also served as a center for Team FOG Naestved.
