WWE Hall of Famer Calls for AJ Lee’s Return

Former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee, married to current WWE star CM Punk, has sparked return rumors following Punk’s recent comeback. Lee has been away from WWE and in-ring action for nearly a decade. Her last match took place on March 30, 2015, on WWE RAW.

AJ Lee joined WWE’s main roster in the early 2010s. She was initially aligned with AEW’s Bryan Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan. However, she rose to prominence in 2012, playing a central role in major storylines alongside CM Punk, John Cena, and Dolph Ziggler. Lee’s success in the women’s division led her to become the Divas Champion.

Although Lee has been absent from WWE for nearly a decade. Her name recently resurfaced in the feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. The rivalry intensified when McIntyre stole Punk’s bracelet. A bracelet, which was a gift from a fan, had the names of AJ Lee and their dog, Larry, inscribed on it. With the feud becoming personal, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has voiced his hope that AJ Lee will return and get involved in the storyline.

On the latest episode of WWE RAW, Drew McIntyre once again took possession of CM Punk’s bracelet. This time, he escalated the situation by breaking the bracelet into pieces and forcing Punk to swallow them. With the bracelet destroyed, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has expressed hopes of seeing AJ Lee and her dog, Larry, become involved in the storyline.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ray hinted that bringing AJ Lee back would add emotional depth to the feud. He stated, “I want to see Larry bite McIntyre’s ankles and AJ kick him in the balls. I love deep storyline[s] like that, where people [we know] are involved. AJ has not been around in a long time. AJ — a beloved female, beloved wrestler amongst the WWE universe. You bring AJ Lee back into the mix and … the emotion will flood into this storyline like you wouldn’t believe.”

With AJ Lee being mentioned in this rivalry, many fans are hopeful for her return to WWE. Even her husband, CM Punk, has expressed his desire to see her back. However, he emphasizes that the decision is entirely hers, as he does not want to pressure her into a comeback.
