The first look at the upcoming Wolfman creature that will be found in Leigh Whannell’s reboot film has been revealed in an unlikely way.

The creature was spotted by fans at the launch of Halloween Horror Nights 2024, Universal’s annual themed event at its parks. There, someone dressed as the creature could be seen in full costume, complete with monstrous hands and grey hair bursting through its clothes.

Check out the first look at the Wolfman in Wolf Man below:

What do we know about the Wolf Man reboot?

Leigh Whannell previously directed Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man reboot, and will now direct this from a screenplay he co-wrote with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo. The modern remake will reportedly center around a family who’s being terrorized by a lethal predator.

The Wolf Man reboot is currently set to release on January 17, 2025.

The film will star Julia Garner, Christopher Abbott, and Sam Jaeger, among others. Prior to Abbott’s casting, Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling was originally attached for the titular role. Despite his exit, Gosling will still served as a executive producing alongside Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell. It is produced by Jason Blum.

Whannell is known for writing a number of James Wan horror movies, including 2004’s Saw, 2007’s Dead Silence, and 2010’s Insidious. He made his directorial debut in 2015 with Insidious: Chapter 3 before he went on to direct 2018’s Upgrade and, most recently, 2020’s The Invisible Man with Elisabeth Moss. He also received a story credit for 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door, which was directed by Patrick Wilson.
