Max has finally dropped the first Salem’s Lot clip from Warner Bros.‘ long-delayed film adaptation of Stephen King‘s classic 1975 supernatural horror novel about a writer who discovers that a vampire is terrorizing his hometown. The film will be available for streaming in the U.S. sometime in October 2024, exclusively on Max.

Who is in the Salem’s Lot clip?

The sneak peek video provides the audiences with a closer look at Lewis Pullman‘s Ben Mears, Makenzie Leigh’s Susan Norton, Alfre Woodard‘s Dr. Cody, Jordan Preston Carter’s Mark Petrie, and John Benjamin Hickey’s Father Callahan as they work together to investigate a dead body at the Straker’s mansion. Additional cast includes Bill Camp as Matthew Burke, Spencer Treat Clark as Mike Ryerson, William Sadler as Parkins Gillespie, Pilou Asbæk as Richard Straker, Nicholas Crovetti as Danny Glick, Cade Woodward as Ralph Glick, and more.

“Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire,” reads the synopsis.

The Salem’s Lot movie is written and directed by Gary Dauberman (Annabelle Comes Home), who previously penned the screenplay for 2017’s IT and 2019’s IT: Chapter Two. This marks the reunion between Dauberman and The Conjuring Universe creator James Wan, who is producing the project alongside his Atomic Monster partner Michael Clear and Vertigo’s Roy Lee, & Mark Wolper. It is executive produced by Dauberman, Michael Bederman, Atomic Monster’s Judson Scott, and Vertigo’s Andrew Childs.
