El Moussa, who had been the prominent cast member of the show since its inception, was reduced to a recurring appearance in Season 7 due to her maternity leave. As a result, viewers were skeptical about her comeback, which was confirmed with her absence in the new season. Further, Moussa confessed on The Skinny Confidential podcast how the series took over her life and was interfering with her regular job as a real estate agent. She stated:
